We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Middle School Guide to inspire and nurture students during this pivotal plane of development. As a Montessori Middle School Guide, you will work with a co-teacher to create and maintain an environment that fosters independence, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Your role will involve implementing Montessori principles tailored to middle school students, supporting their academic growth, social-emotional development, and overall well-being. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young adolescents while working within a close knit educational community committed to excellence. Two overnight class trips are part of the opportunities to get to know students.
Duties
Implement a two-year curriculum designed by Montessorians
Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that promote exploration, problem-solving, and independent thinking tailored to a range of middle school learners
Implement effective positive classroom management strategies to create a respectful, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students
Support students’ social-emotional growth through peace conferences and individualized guidance
Collaborate with a co-teacher to design interdisciplinary projects and intercession weeks to enhance student understanding and engagement
Utilize observation to monitor progress and adapt instruction accordingly
Maintain detailed records of student development, lesson plans, and classroom activities using Transparent Classroom.
Experience
Prior classroom experience working with upper elementary or middle school students in an educational setting
Demonstrated expertise in lesson planning and instructional delivery across core subjects
Experience with Montessori methods applied to adolescent learners or similar progressive educational approaches
Knowledge of childhood development stages relevant to early adolescence
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, staff, and community partners
Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for middle school environments
Background in math instruction is advantageous
Willingness, aptitude, and ideally, experience working with students with a range of neurodiversity

Montessori Academy is seeking energetic and dependable individuals to work in our After School Care Program. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age with a high school degree. Previous childcare experience is preferred. Responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to): supervising and engaging with students, facilitating snack for younger students, creating and maintaining great relationships with students and parents. The hours are 2:45-5:30pm Monday-Friday. Option of additional hours if the candidate is interested in being added to the substitute list.
