Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

Ages 18 - 36 months

A toddler class begins the educational process during the sensitive periods that come during the ages 18 months – 36 months. This allows the toddlers to have the independence to explore and to make choices in a safe environment.  Toddlers are allowed to do things for themselves with lots of opportunity for learning.
Montessori toddler programs are very successful in preparing a child to enter Primary programs and add a “jump start” to help the child flourish as they progress in school.

The learning environment is fully equipped with Montessori materials, a gross motor play area in the classroom, a separate outdoor play area and a full size gym is available for the children.

Toddlers learn best through:
  • purposeful movement
  • self chosen activity
  • activity that fulfills the need of a sensitive period
  • repetition and concentration
  • experiencing order.
  • The classroom has toddler size furniture which enables the child to explore the classroom.
  • There are especially designed activities and materials that meet the toddler’s interest in movement, independence, order, language and music fills the classroom.
  • Practical Life consists of care of self, care of the environment and food prep.
  • Each material or activity is done in three phases: First – taking the work from the shelf to a floor mat or table / Second – engaging in the work and eventually mastering the work / Third – putting the away

Our whole family feels at home on campus.
