Dismissal and Sickness Policies

School Dismissal, Late Fees and Pick-Ups

12:00 Dismissal
Toddler and Primary students registered to attend until 12:00 p.m. must be picked up promptly at 12:00 p.m. Please come to the classroom door and wait for a teacher to bring your child to you. After 12:00 noon, an "Extended Day" ticket from the office is needed. See tuition rate form for fees.

3:00 Dismissal
Dismissal times are as follows:
  • 2:45 - 3:00 p.m. for students without elementary siblings
  • 3:00 - 3:10 p.m. students with elementary siblings
Dismissal ends promptly at 3:10 p.m. Please wait in your car for the safety patrol to bring your child to you. (Car seats must be placed by the right rear door so the safety patrol can load your child from the curb without getting into the traffic.) If you arrive between 3:10 p.m., and 3:29 p.m., please purchase a "Late Fee Ticket" from the office. After 3:30 p.m., please purchase an "After School Care" ticket from the office. See tuition rate form for fees.

After School Care

As an additional service to parents, M.A. provides After School Care. After School Care is available from 3:10 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tickets are available from the office in advance. If you will occasionally use this service, please purchase After School Care Tickets from the office in advance and simply send one with your child the day that you will need additional care. This service needs to be paid for by ticket on the day it is used.

Policies:

If an After School Care ticket is not presented on the day of use, the billed fee will be $20 per day.
  • If a parent is continually billed, After School Care privileges will be suspended!
  • If you unexpectedly require After School Care, call the office by 3:00 p.m. and bring a ticket with you when picking up your child.
  • If there is an emergency and you will be later than 6:00 p.m., call IMMEDIATELY and have cash ready to pay directly to the detained teacher ($1 per minute with a minimum of $11).
  • The After School Care tickets are cheaper if purchased in quantities! Please see the tuition chart for ticket rates. All unused tickets are refundable! It is best to have a few on hand for emergencies.
  • Whenever M.A. closes early for any reason (picnic days, snow days, half days, etc.) the late fee applies. At closing time, the late fee of $1 per minute with a $11 minimum is required and is to be paid to the detained teacher.

Sickness Policy

For the health and well being of YOUR child, we strictly adhere to our sickness policy!
  • If your child comes to school sick, we cannot accept him/her.
  • If your child becomes sick while at school, we will call you and you must pick him/her up immediately.
  • If your child is sent home sick, he/she may not return to school the next
  • All children must be free of fever, vomiting, and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before coming/returning to school.
Your child will be sent home immediately, if you bring him/her to school before the required 24-hour period. No exceptions to this policy. This policy helps protect all the Montessori Academy children from sickness before it spreads, and enables us to maintain a healthy, happy community. Your help is greatly appreciated.
