The Montessori Academy is a multi-culturally diverse community.  At the end of the 2011-2012 school year, enrollment was at 239.  Open enrollment policies  make enrollment numbers flucuate throughout the school year.  For year-end demographic information, click here.

We do not, nor have we ever counted students in “minority classes” to differentiate these students from non-minority people; this is part of our culture of acceptance. Walking through the classrooms is the best way to experience our multi-cultural, multi-racial community of students and teachers.  We have students and teachers who are African American, Middle Eastern (Indian & Arabic), Hispanic/Latino, Pacific Islander, African (not American), and Caucasian. Religious backgrounds include Christian, Jew, Hindu, Muslim, and others.

We celebrate our multi-cultural and multi-national community each year in the Annual International Festival when we invite parents and grandparents to participate in a day of sharing their culture.  All students are encouraged to visit booths set up with displays of indigenous art, crafts, skills, traditional apparel, and food. Performances by different ethnic groups feature dance and music.
